Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 August 2026

Clarity ("we", "us") is an Australian-made calorie and food-quality tracking app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: your food and health data belongs to you, it is never sold, and you can delete everything at any time from inside the app.

Information we collect

What we don't do

Service providers

We share data only with the processors needed to run Clarity: Supabase (database & authentication, Sydney), Anthropic (AI analysis of scans, United States), PostHog (analytics, United States), Sentry (crash reporting, United States), Resend (transactional email such as sign-in confirmations), and Apple (payments, notifications). Each receives only what is necessary for its function.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept until you delete it. In Settings → Delete account & data, Clarity deletes your synced meals and your account from our servers, then wipes the device copy. This is immediate and irreversible. You can also export your data as CSV at any time from Settings.

International transfers

Your synced food data stays in Australia. Some processors above operate in the United States; where they do, we rely on their standard contractual safeguards.

Children

Clarity is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles (and, where applicable, the GDPR) you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. The in-app export and delete tools cover most requests instantly; for anything else, email us.

Changes

If we change this policy materially, we'll note it here and in the app before the change takes effect.
